NaNoWriMo

This is the first year in three that I haven’t taken part in NaNoWriMo! I just didn’t feel like I had it in me to try this year after three failed attempts. Three failed attempts also means three more incomplete manuscripts to add to my growing collection and I just couldn’t handle a fourth. They sit in my computer laughing at me!

I also didn’t think I’d be able to take part and have enough time to blog but I’ve seen that a lot people are managing to do that….HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT???

Anyway, I wish you all luck, you are braver souls than me and I’m hopefully going to find time this month to complete at least one of my unfinished novels so I don’t feel too left out!

If you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month in which crazy people attempt to write at least 50,000 words in November, for better or for worse. It’s a really fun way to force yourself to write everyday. But, I’ve also found it completely impossible. There’s always next year.

More info Here.

Happy NaNo-ing!

  1. I’ve attempted NaNoWriMo six times, and won three times. I’m not doing Nano this year, either, I had trips and everything this month, and I wanted to outline this year but didn’t get it done in October, so I just let it be… I do enjoy the feeling of community when a ton of people are writing at the same time. Like you said, there’s always next year.

    1. I did really enjoy it every time I took part. I never went to any of the meet-ups though. I’ll definitely give it a go another time because I’m pretty slack at writing regularly and it’s a good motivator, but with working full time It’s soooo hard. I don’t know how everyone does it!
