June. Hmm…June actually felt like a lonnnng old month for once. We had the hottest June on record, although the heatwave only really lasted about 5 days. It did me in. I’m not made for hot climates and once again declared that I need to move to Iceland, as I do every year when it gets hot. LOL.
At the beginning of the month I went to visit my friend in Germany for her 30th, which was short but sweet. And I also finally went to Shakespeare’s Globe after over 15 years in London (shocking, I know) to see Tristan & Yseult which is one of my favourite stories ever. They certainly made it their own but I really enjoyed it.

TBR Shelf Update
Earlier this year I decided I HAD to do something about my physical TBR shelves. Each month I’ll be doing a quick update to see how I’ve done. See my original post here, and my updated TBR list here.
Previous TBR Count: 85
Books Added: 0!!! 🙂
Books Read: 1
Remaining: 84
That was my month, how was yours?
Oh, I adore Tristan & Yseult! I would love to see the play. I think their story is so often overlooked in favor of Arthur, Guinevere, and Lancelot that people miss out! My degree concentration is in Britsh Literature, so I wrote my thesis dissertation for my Master’s degree on the Love and Death in the Arthurian Legend and covered the Tristan & Yseult legend and love triangle with King Mark. It was interesting research and fun to write….well as fun as it could be for 120 pages!
I hate to hear The Winter King was a disappointment for you! I do love Bernard Cornwell and have read all of his Last Kingdom books so was hoping I’d enjoy his Arthur series. Oh well.
I definitely need to read Broken Branches; I’m seeing excellent reviews everywhere!
One of Us is Lying surprised me too! It was so good! Great post! Have a wonderful day 😊
Love the way you structured this post 🙂 Yoou do a lot of memes and tags, I should do way more!!
I hear you when it comes to the physical TBR. I used to be able to keep my TBR on my shelf under 30 books, but now it seems to have doubled (or tripled, I haven’t counted lately because I’m afraid). I tend to check out a lot of books from my library and end up neglecting the ones on my shelf,. Hope you pick up many of your own books in July!
Oh yes, let’s move to Iceland!!! I can’t stand the heat!
Broken Branches is a fantastic read 🙂
