30 Days of Horror #8: Interview with the Vampire #HO17 #30daysofhorror

Join me for 30 Days of Horror in which we spotlight one horror book for each day until we reach Halloween!

I’m going back to a classic for this evening’s choice. Interview with the Vampire has to be by far my favourite book by Anne Rice (the film helped rather than hindered – for once!). I have a really old copy of this book which I love. It must be about time for a reread.

Interview with the Vampire is a debut gothic horror and vampire novel by American author Anne Rice, published in 1976.
Based on a short story Rice wrote around 1968, the novel centers on vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac, who tells the story of his life to a reporter.
Rice composed the novel shortly after the death of her young daughter Michelle, who served as an inspiration for the child-vampire character Claudia.

Have you read it? What did you think?

Creative Writing graduate. A Northerner in London. I probably love books a bit too much. Also enjoy vampires, unicorns, man love, tennis & can't get enough of trashy teen novels. I find myself thinking 'What Would Buffy Do?' way too frequently. HIYA!
