About

Yeah I’m 30…ish, and what!? I can still fall in love with a pretty YA book cover and dream about castles and princes and princesses and unicorns you know. I can still read Twilight without a hint of shame and I will never, ever accept the fact that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is no more (no, I’m sorry but the comics do not count).

I’m a creative writing graduate living in the mostly beautiful area of Kingston-Upon-Thames (UK) where I spend my days working in the madness that is a prison library, and trying to convince the masses that it’s clearly pronounced Glasss not Glars and Baff not Barth. By night I slay dragons, fall in love with vampires and hang out with my sarcastic skeleton detective friend.

I do have real adult friends too and do real adult things, such as drink too much wine, cook interesting combinations of food and watch way too much TV. I am also known to get very excited by tennis, men who love men, and films with Tom Hardy in.

I started Lipsyy Lost & Found in 2013 as a place to store reviews and rant about books and other things, and since then it’s taken on a life of its own. I’ve created a monster!

Comments make me happy, I mean, I don’t mind talking to myself but it’s nice to get into a debate once in a while you know?

What’s in a a name!?
Lipsy is a nickname of mine which I’ve had since I was at college. The extra Y is just to keep consistent on social media as ‘Lipsy’ was already taken when I first started Tweeting and things. You know how it is. Anyway, enough of the boring….

  1. “By night I slay dragons, fall in love with vampires and hang out with my sarcastic skeleton detective friend.”
    — Me Too!!! I will read anything with a dragon in it. I was team Edward for the first book, but switched to Team Jacob halfway through the second (I’m a sucker for wolves!) I cheated on an old boyfriend with Harry Potter for two weeks while I read through the first 6 books (& again when book 7 came out). Basically, I just wanted to say Hi and love your blog!

  2. Aw thanks! And HI!! I will try my very best to overlook the Team Jacob part of that comment…how could you!! You know what, everyone I know expects me to be a huge HP fan but I never really got into it…that’s terrible isn’t it!? I really should try, but I guess I feel like I kind of missed the boat on that one. I blame Daniel Radcliffe.

  3. Pretty book covers, castles, wine, cooking…what’s not to love? I’m a fan of all that and more. Thanks for stopping by – your visit helped me find you.

    1. Yay! What does age mean anyway! I do get some funny looks when people see what I’m reading though. They don’t know what they’re missing!!

      1. Thank you! I don’t really knew what it’s all about but being nominated for something sounds nice :). I’ll look into it. Thanks again!

  4. Never too old to appreciate good YA, I say! (and trust me, I’m waaaaay past the target demographic). Always nice to meet another Buffy fan!

  5. I love your tagline! And the fact that you are a fellow Buffy fan. I still get sad to reach the end of the boxset, even though I know I can watch it all from the beginning again!

  6. Love this :). I have been following you for a while and I love this blog! Can’t wait to read more

  7. You had me at ‘Buffy’… πŸ˜‰
Other than that, I’m a bit older than you (okay, maybe a lot older…), and agree with every word you wrote in your opening paragraph.

  8. This is a lovely, sarcastic, and hilarious about page. Thanks for inspiring me! I want to go rewrite mine now… πŸ™‚

  9. Hi Lipsy, and thanks for the follow! I too like dragons, but probably more to train than slay them. Looking forward to reading your blog, too. Pleased to meet you, Marina
