February on Lipsyy Lost & Found // March Releases

Oh February, where did you go!?

Some good things happened in February; I got a job – maybe my dream job, even – we shall see! I still don’t have a start date as I have to undergo a series of security checks, so it doesn’t seem real enough to announce yet. There’s no reason why I wouldn’t pass the checks, but I don’t want to jinx it. So watch this space!

I was still really busy with working shifts this feb (six days a week!), which impacted on my blogging but hey-ho. There is now light at the end of the tunnel. Hurrah!

January 2015 on Lipsyy Lost & Found // February Releases

Better late than never, right?

Well, what to say about January…it came and went in the blink of an eye as always. It was a slow start for me as I took the first two weeks off from blogging, for a much needed rest, but I’ve thrown myself back into it with gusto. I also posted less in order to build up some content for the future in an attempt to BE.MORE.ORGANISED. Seems to be working so far…ahem.

November 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found

I can’t believe November has been and gone and December is flying by, like it always does! I didn’t even get round to doing an October round-up…fail!

November wasn’t the best month for me in real life terms. I lost my job, and started working in my friend’s pub to keep me going until I find something more substantial (it’s like going back in time 8 years – very odd!). Therefore my schedule has been all out of whack and with job hunting – gahhh, it’s taken its toll on my reading and blogging, but I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I’m posting when I can!

Here’s what did happen on the blog in November though! I’ve included October reviews too.

September 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found/ October Releases

September hasn’t been my best month, reading wise and beyond.

I had a successful month free of booze (hurrah), but I also had to start job hunting, which left less time to read than usual (not hurrah). However, I’m trying to see the whole palaver as an opportunity. On to bigger and better things…I hope.

But for now, let’s just get on with the stats…

August 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found/ September Releases

Welcome to my new-look monthly round-up!

August was an average reading month for me, but I read some great books that will no doubt be filed under ‘favourites’ for years to come.

August was also the month of free books, a wedding, a David Bowie festival in the middle of nowhere, The Great British Bake Off, and a Kyle XY marathon.

But mainly, August was the month that James Frey emailed me. Plurally. And sent me a copy of his book Endgame (and a USB stick), after I had a little rant about some idiots on Goodreads slagging it off before they’ve even read it. If you can’t tell, I am still ecstatic about this.

Anyway on to the stats. And continue reading for a look at the best September Releases.

Due to a severe lack of funds and the fact that I have nowhere to put them I am still on a book-buying ban. However, the universe was pretty good to me and I won two Goodreads giveaways, a David Bowie raffle (LOL) AND James Frey sent Endgame to me. (Oh, did I already mention that!?)

    bk

I also bought The Red House by Mark Haddon from a Charity Shop. Couldn’t resist. After last month’s NetGalley frenzy I didn’t request any more ARCs month. I did download this ‘Read Now’ title though. The cover is terrible, but the fact that it’s written by an actual surgeon is what tempted me.

July 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found

Welcome to my my July round-up. I know I say the same thing every month but SERIOUSLY, how is it August already!? Insane.

Considering I had a week off at the beginning of July where I didn’t read at all, I still managed to get through 6 books last month. I loved them all apart from Immortal Beloved, but I still want to read the next book because one of the characters was so hot. Is that shallow? The series could get better, right!?

Things that happened in July included my mum coming to visit, taking trip to the seaside and attending the UK’s first ever YA literature convention at London Comic Con. It was another busy but awesome month.

Anyway, on to the stats!

April 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found

Welcome to my April round-up. I had a bit of a reading slump towards the end of the month but all in all it was a good month. I pretty much loved every book I read, and Easter happened which meant a few extra days off work. I spent a lot of that being hungover but y’know…I had a good time. Too good some might say.

The author is mainly famous for being Tom from Mcfly’s other half and this is her second novel. I didn’t read her first one, Billy and Me but it got some decent reviews so I thought I’d give it a go. It looks like a fun spring/summer read.
