This Month in Books: July 2015

ICON5

July was a bit of a bitch to be honest. I got into a severe blogging and reading slump and came pretty close to throwing in the towel. I love blogging, but I started this when I had a boring office job, and I was able to manage most of my blog admin at work. But now I work in an environment that is really full on and has no internet access anyway, I’m really struggling to keep up.

I feel bad for not reading my favourite blogs, replying to emails and comments, as much as I used to, but it’s just not possible.

However, I had a good think about it and I’m not ready to give up, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I’m trying to go easy on myself. If I only post twice a week, so what. If it takes me a year to write that review I promised, so what! I officially declare this as a pressure-free zone!

In July, I caught up on a lot of reviews, but got very little reading done…I blame the summer. I’m really looking forward to Autumn and long nights indoors hibernating away. Summer is too busy for my liking. LOL.

Anyway, on to the stats!

What are you looking forward to this month?

This Month in Books (May 2015) & June Releases

I really enjoyed May!

I settled into my new job, the sun came out, Eurovision happened which is always SO MUCH FUN, and I generally just enjoyed spending time with friends and adjusting to getting up at 6 AM every weekday. Eeek! It did impact on my reading and blogging a little, and I fell behind in my Goodreads challenge, but no doubt I’ll catch up this month as I’m off on holiday this week. Yay!

April 2015 on Lipsyy Lost & Found

April was a good month, blogging and life-wise.

I started my new job in a prison library and I’m enjoying it. I’m learning a lot. It’s challenging and draining but really interesting. I’m drawing blanks as to what else happened in April… says a lot really.

February on Lipsyy Lost & Found // March Releases

Oh February, where did you go!?

Some good things happened in February; I got a job – maybe my dream job, even – we shall see! I still don’t have a start date as I have to undergo a series of security checks, so it doesn’t seem real enough to announce yet. There’s no reason why I wouldn’t pass the checks, but I don’t want to jinx it. So watch this space!

I was still really busy with working shifts this feb (six days a week!), which impacted on my blogging but hey-ho. There is now light at the end of the tunnel. Hurrah!

January 2015 on Lipsyy Lost & Found // February Releases

Better late than never, right?

Well, what to say about January…it came and went in the blink of an eye as always. It was a slow start for me as I took the first two weeks off from blogging, for a much needed rest, but I’ve thrown myself back into it with gusto. I also posted less in order to build up some content for the future in an attempt to BE.MORE.ORGANISED. Seems to be working so far…ahem.

November 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found

I can’t believe November has been and gone and December is flying by, like it always does! I didn’t even get round to doing an October round-up…fail!

November wasn’t the best month for me in real life terms. I lost my job, and started working in my friend’s pub to keep me going until I find something more substantial (it’s like going back in time 8 years – very odd!). Therefore my schedule has been all out of whack and with job hunting – gahhh, it’s taken its toll on my reading and blogging, but I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I’m posting when I can!

Here’s what did happen on the blog in November though! I’ve included October reviews too.

September 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found/ October Releases

September hasn’t been my best month, reading wise and beyond.

I had a successful month free of booze (hurrah), but I also had to start job hunting, which left less time to read than usual (not hurrah). However, I’m trying to see the whole palaver as an opportunity. On to bigger and better things…I hope.

But for now, let’s just get on with the stats…
