August 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found/ September Releases

Welcome to my new-look monthly round-up!

August was an average reading month for me, but I read some great books that will no doubt be filed under ‘favourites’ for years to come.

August was also the month of free books, a wedding, a David Bowie festival in the middle of nowhere, The Great British Bake Off, and a Kyle XY marathon.

But mainly, August was the month that James Frey emailed me. Plurally. And sent me a copy of his book Endgame (and a USB stick), after I had a little rant about some idiots on Goodreads slagging it off before they’ve even read it. If you can’t tell, I am still ecstatic about this.

Anyway on to the stats. And continue reading for a look at the best September Releases.

Due to a severe lack of funds and the fact that I have nowhere to put them I am still on a book-buying ban. However, the universe was pretty good to me and I won two Goodreads giveaways, a David Bowie raffle (LOL) AND James Frey sent Endgame to me. (Oh, did I already mention that!?)

I also bought The Red House by Mark Haddon from a Charity Shop. Couldn’t resist. After last month’s NetGalley frenzy I didn’t request any more ARCs month. I did download this ‘Read Now’ title though. The cover is terrible, but the fact that it’s written by an actual surgeon is what tempted me.

July 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found

Welcome to my my July round-up. I know I say the same thing every month but SERIOUSLY, how is it August already!? Insane.

Considering I had a week off at the beginning of July where I didn’t read at all, I still managed to get through 6 books last month. I loved them all apart from Immortal Beloved, but I still want to read the next book because one of the characters was so hot. Is that shallow? The series could get better, right!?

Things that happened in July included my mum coming to visit, taking trip to the seaside and attending the UK’s first ever YA literature convention at London Comic Con. It was another busy but awesome month.

Anyway, on to the stats!

I am still on my book buying ban but I did of course, pick up some awesome books at YALC. I only bought the Manga Shakespeare though!

I also got a bit NetGalley happy as I was down to just two upcoming ARCS.

    I was approved for these:

      *BEST COVER*

This July/August I am focusing solely on books on my TBR pile for the TBR reading challenge in which I’m massively behind! The Princess Bride has been on the top of the list for so long.

April 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found

Welcome to my April round-up. I had a bit of a reading slump towards the end of the month but all in all it was a good month. I pretty much loved every book I read, and Easter happened which meant a few extra days off work. I spent a lot of that being hungover but y’know…I had a good time. Too good some might say.

I had a few issues with Netgalley this month, (see my rant here) so I tried reeeeallly hard not to request many books. I only requested The Unicorn Thief which I’m currently reading.

And, I have so many things on in the next few months I have to be really careful with money…but I still managed the Pre-order The One (OBVS) and I also bought Burial Rites.

Do you even have to ask?

March 2014 on Lipsyy Lost & Found

Well that was another ridiculously quick month. Nearly all the books I read were ARCs in an attempt to catch up, so this month I’m looking forward to reading some of the books on my shelves. I also went to my first book launch, and got a pay rise at work. Winning!

I FINALLY got round to buying these beauties. I love that they are all blue-ish too. So pretty, I just want to stroke them.

And I was really good as far as Netgalley is concerned and only requested this:

The author is mainly famous for being Tom from Mcfly’s other half and this is her second novel. I didn’t read her first one, Billy and Me but it got some decent reviews so I thought I’d give it a go. It looks like a fun spring/summer read.
